The Information Services The Information Center at the IOB was established in 1994. It has constantly supported IOB research and training activities in addition to the banking sector. With its highly improved capabilities and information resources, the Information Center intends to officially extend its services to other organizations especially in the financial services industry. The ultimate goal is to satisfy the needs of the banking industry by providing the latest information services from anywhere in the world in an easy format. A. Resources & Collections The research and information services constantly update its rich collections of the latest resources. More specifically, the unit has at its disposal: I. Books About 5200 newest editions of books on a variety of subjects. And the Center constantly acquires the newest editions on subjects such as banking, finance, economics, management, accounting, training, marketing, and statistics. II. Periodicals The Center subscribes to about 80 core periodicals on banking, finance, management, and related subjects. III. Proquest Business Periodical Database This world leading business and management database provides comprehensive full text articles, abstracts and bibliographic citations of around 1100 business periodicals. IV. Annual Reports The center has Annual reports of all Saudi Banks and selected top-ranking companies. V. References A rich collection of encyclopedias, handbooks, directories, and dictionaries in fields of banking, finance, law, and management. VI. Video A distinguished collection of about 170 carefully selected video films on banking, finance, management, customer services, and leadership. VII. Research & Working Papers The Center receives research & working papers from several renowned local and international academic and financial institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. VIII. Executive Training Catalogs The Center constantly receives catalogs about Executive Training Programs conducted by major universities and management centers on the world. B. Services The Center is happy to provide you with the following services that target your individual and/or organizational needs: I. Information Service Thanks to our local and international research resources, we can now provide you with up-to-date information on any topic related to banking, finance and management. II. Current Awareness Service (CAS) The CAS system allows you to receive daily e-mails about a complete listing of new book acquisitions and the contents of the periodicals that the Center receives. III. Circulation Each member can borrow up to 3 books each time and borrowing and renewal periods are:
