Professional Education and Qualifications Center

The Center has been established to carry out the following two main activities:

1. Design, development and delivery of professional educational programs that lead to diplomas and professional designations covering a number of careers in the financial services sector, with concentration on the areas of Investment and Insurance.

2. Design, development and delivery of regulatory qualifying examinations in the area of Investment and Insurance, along with review courses to prepare candidates for such exams.

Given the nature of its programs that lead to the conferral of designations and to licensing, the Center maintains a strong relationship with the regulatory agencies, namely the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency and the Capital Market Authority, to ensure their needs are met in terms of qualifying exams and preparatory programs.

In addition to its alliance with the market regulators, the Center seeks to establish partnerships and channels of cooperation with major national and internationals universities and professional educational institutions around the world, making sure its programs and exams are built according to the highest standards.

Currently, the Center consists of the following Four Business Units:

  The Financial Advisory Services Unit.
  The Investment Qualifications Unit.
  The Insurance Unit.
  The English Language Unit.

Except for the English Language Unit, the Teaching Staff are recruited from other centers within the IOB, or from local and international universities. The Units are headed by program managers who oversee the various stages of program and exam development and delivery processes, starting with needs assessment, identification of competencies, reality testing and ending with the development of teaching outlines and the delivery of courses and exams.
